Are there any international students still waiting for their financial aid award decision? I still haven’t received mine, but I called the fin aid office once and they said the result will definitely come out before the 1st of May, the deposit deadline, which is literally 5 days away. I started to get very worried and nervous about this so was wondering if there’s anyone else still waiting for their financial aid notification.
Hey, I’m an international student in the class of 2023. I’ve received my financial aid offer (an unexpectedly generous one, too) from Georgetown. Unfortunately, though, Georgetown does NOT offer all international students who are admitted financial aid. I believe the number of international students who get aid varies between 6-8. This is a highly criticized policy of admit-reject wherein the accepted student does not find it financially feasible to attend. At this stage, it is very unlikely you receive financial aid and will probably happen only if an accepted international student with aid does not enroll.
This all being said, I highly empathize with you because I was in a similarly desperate situation until I received my aid offer. My inbox is open if you want to talk/ ask me anything (I’ve learnt a lot about international aid at gtown during this process). Lastly, I’m just another student so please take my words with a grain of salt. cheers.
