I'm an international student living in the US..How do college admissions work for me then?

Do I just compete with students from my country?
OR
Do I compete with ppl from my school & my country?

How do international admissions work anyway?

You apply the same way that everyone else applies. Most colleges do not have a seperate set of application forms or procedures for international applicants. Since you were educated in the US, you will be held to the same academic standards that US students are held to.

The only difference is the availability of financial aid. Not all colleges have financial aid for students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the US, and those who do have aid typically only have a very limited amount of aid. That means that you might be rejected from colleges who would otherwise admit you because they are unable to offer you financial aid. That makes it tricky to come up with a good college list if you rely on financial aid to finance a college education.

If you are hoping to attend a public university, you should also check whether or not you would qualify for in-state tuition. The policies vary by state.
