Also, I have published articles in more than five different national magazines and newspapers. My activity as a writer has been reflected in a book published by one of these magazines.

My problem, however, is my 1580 SAT Score (very low, I'm a really bad test taker). My SAT Subject Scores are going to be much higher, I believe.
Is this score going to lead to the rejection of my application (HYP)?
What about Cornell/Williams/Mt Holyoke/Duke/Pomona?

You deffienately have a chance if you get your SAT scores up. Also try taking the SAT II, which are for each specific subject, and maybe the ACT if it is available. The ACT is much easier than the SAT, from my experience. Also in europe were you doing A levels or IB and did you take AP classes in the states?

increase ur score to atleast 1850-1900 and u can make it to the ivies,ur ec’s and honors are amazing.even if u are not able to raise ur score do apply to the ivies and as poster above me said take SAT II Subject tests as well .

I’m not sure weather I should retake the SAT or the Subject Tests…what would be better?
Do you think I should contact the schools and ask them to wait a little bit. Or is this too much?

if u have not taken the SAT Subject Tests take them because they are nececssary for certain colleges and are F***** easy , I suppose u will be taking them this 28th ,2 weeks will be more than enough to prepare for them.

With your SAT score, you have zero chance at any of the schools on your list. Especially at HYP, your application will get laughed out in a matter of seconds. Honestly, you will need a lot of luck just to get into a top 50 state university. I don’t say this to be mean spirited, but to inject some objectivity here.

Even with your ecs, you need at least a 2000-2100 to stand a chance in regular admission for williams, duke, and cornell, 2100-2200 for HYP. It may be even harder for internationals. Also, SAT Is are much more important than SAT IIs
