thank you frens!
kenyon_10 .... we can always meet ryt? ;)

kenyon_10 : thanx... we can always meet outside the college ryt? ;)

=)... i am actually screwup... but someone suggested that I changed my screen name since that's kind of self-derogatory.. ;)

How's Mount Holyoke financial aid by the way? Are there any loans?

fin aid for internationals is way high, in 2004, it aided 241 intels from 331 with an avergae aid of 34 K - need based aid. If you're good enough, doubt ull need loans.

241???????????
God, they r very generous :)

:( but i haven't received my financial assistance package yet !!!

I haven't received it either... :(

And since ED is final, well you know, there's not much we can do about it! I do hope that Penn stays true to their promise of meeting 100% of the need.

lipgloss... whats ur stats? UPenn with financial aid...Cool!!!
which country and which school of UPenn?

Yeahh I was totally expecting to get rejected or deferred because of the fin aid, but I was pleasently surprised!!! :D

I applied to the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and I guess it helped that I am a Hispanic female (you know, it's like a double minority within engineering schools). I'm from Panama, but I have some Greek descent too from my paternal grandfather. Here are my stats:

SAT 1: 730 CR, 690 M, 660 W
SAT 2: 780 French, 660 MathII, 640 Physics
Toefl: 673 PBT
GPA: 4.76/5.00
Rank: 1/38
I had good essays and I got to read my teacher recs- they were really awesome. I also had several good ECs with leadership positions, including Debate Club secretary, Yearbook editor, Talent Show organizer, and National Math Olympics gold medalist.

Many people always thought I'd get in wherever I wanted, but that's because most people here don't really know how competitive ivy league admissions are. Especially when you are an intel. and asking for aid. I think what really helped me was the interest I showed in UPenn, I had met the adcom when she came to Panama, and we had e-mailed a few times. My Why Penn? essay reflected a lot of passion and desire to attend the U, work hard, and contribute to the educative atmosphere... or at least I hope so! :)

lipgloss...u r an Olympiad Gold Medalist...that must have helped u a lot...do u have Yahoo ID? I would like to get some help from u. I will be applying there too.. my yahoo ID is ronty007

Maryann McDonagh?

Well Kenyon met 100% of my need too. But there's a loan component of USD 3000 a year. But then I am pretty happy with my aid package since the grant is ridiculously high too at USD 31000 :)

Yes, Maryann McDonagh! She was really nice and helpful!
