International students - underrepresented countries

Hi everyone
There is a lot of talk about “underrepresented countries” at top-tier universities. Which countries is it favorable to be from in terms of college admissions?
For example, is it better to be from a small European nation than China?
Which countries in Europe would you say are underrepresented at top-tier universities? (Obviously, not the UK and so on but there must be some smaller nations that it would be favorable to be from)

UK, France, Germany, Italy, etc all have plenty of international students studying in US colleges. To be considered underrepresented you would have to be from somewhere like Belarus, Estonia, Liechtenstein, or Macedonia or something. I’m pretty sure these countries wouldn’t have many international students studying abroad in the US. Other than that… I’m sure most countries are represented enough already.

China, Korea, India are 3 of the more well-represented countries.

However, let’s be clear: an applicant from Slovenia will not be admitted simply because s/he is from Slovenia. No college will admit a student simply to stick another pin on a map. Any international applicant at a top university will face a more difficult path to admissions.

This. This is the bottom line here.
