I'm in 10th grade, in a french school, in Morocco and I want to study business in penn or other college. And I want to know what i have to do to apply in an american college like penn ! thanks

Are you applying for FA?

Financial Aid ? Yes i will !

How much can you pay per year? that is massively influential in whether you can get in.

I don’t know maybe, 40k or 45k with room and board

Discuss with your parents how much they can pay per year. That affects your chances a lot.

If you are an international student, you have to be on top of everything: EC, Class rigor, SAT, GPA, everything unless you have a life story that can prove your capability in top schools even with low(but not too low) test scores or such.

Since you are just a sophomore, you still have a lot of time to strategize.

Take the most rigorous classes(AP/IB anything) you can take in school, and get All As and rarely Bs. Take community college classes if you can.
Participate in or creates clubs you are interested AND have chances to show what you are capable of (that means leadership, awards, competition, and maybe fundraising or local/online business in your case)

Prepare for SAT/ACT. There are bunch of threads in CC that gives SAT tips. I recommend taking subject tests during this year to save time for junior and senior year. Aim for the best score you can get. You can take it anytime you want but try to get best scores on Junior year.

Do early researches about academic opportunities, culture and ambiance, and financial aid/scholarship policies regarding international student. Schools that I know have good business course is Upenn’s Wharton, babson college, Indiana university, etc. You can look at us news.com or <a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?. However, don’t let rankings dictate your choices.

Befriend with your teachers; they are going to write recommendation letters for you, and you will have to be in good terms with teachers by being very polite, respectful, and making yourself stand out in classes. I am saying to build a positive relationship with them, not suck up to them. If possible, try to take classes with same teachers,

And, on summer after junior year, create a list of schools from reach(difficult, hard)-match(reasonably easy to getin)-safety(100% get in, no financial problem). Start writing essays whenever essay prompts are available. Prepare your parents and your tax report of last two years. And again, read each college’s website about what financial documents it wants from you. Many schools will require thing that citizens are not asked to submit.

On senior year, you will need to get recommendation letters from GC and teachers. Deadlines are vERY VERY important, and make sure to ask them for recom letters at least 2-3 months before the deadlines. They are very busy, remember! And, start filling in financial aid application and stuff. Some colleges require submitting a bit earlier than normal deadlines for merit scholarship, so be careful with deadlines.

Good luck

Thank u so much !!
