International Students.

I know that they have no country specific quotas(number of admits from a particular country keeps on Fluctuating every year), but i think they do have to maintain a balance in the admitted class. I don' think they would like to admit a class which is 30% Indo-Chinese.

Again it's guess.

Quote from Matt's blog (adapted in my words) "I checked with the Operations Research team and the amazing thing is that the overall distribution remains fairly uniform...(save fluctuations in case there are exceptionally strong applicants)... that means our process is perfect and robust"

Random Comment: I love Operations Research... it's just sooooooo interesting...

wat are the odds for Canadian applicants...

second Sk8rBoi's post

Visit this chart to see the current number of undergrads and grad students at MIT from each US state and all other countries. You will see that there are currently 18 undergraduates from Canada at MIT. This does not tell you "the odds" since we do not know the number who applied from Canada (and will not know: those numbers are not released), but admission is obviously highly competitive for international students from any home country. (Note, however, that Canada is behind only China and Korea in the number of undergrads currently enrolled from a single country, and is followed by India.)
