International Students

International students!

Where are you from and which major?

Prospective Bardians (class of 2013) are from 42 countries!

Amazing!

I am so excited, because only “96 days until your Bard journey begins!” :)

Don’t you just love that bit on the Bard web site? :)

And for such a small school, I agree that they have an impressive international component. But how did you find out that Class of 2013 comes from 42 countries?

Here’s an excerpt from an email from Bard sent on Apr 30 welcoming the class of 2013. I assume the class profile is incomplete since it was before the May 1 deadline:

Perhaps you have started to get acquainted with your fellow classmates on Facebook, but we’re also excited to share some information about how the incoming class is shaping up.

So far, you’re from 31 states and 42 countries: Oklahoma to Afghanistan, Montana to Zimbabwe, Kentucky to Finland, Iraq to South Dakota, and of course the many from California and New England! You have been very, very involved in service: volunteering at clinics, tutoring peers, building houses, performing for seniors, teaching children, serving at soup kitchens, helping in New Orleans. You dance, sing, WRITE, cook, juggle, paint, and make all kinds of music. You’re very talented, very smart and very kind! You’re leaders in all sorts of ways: in science research, editing roles, athletics, class offices, political campaigns, MUN and many clubs and community organizations! What an awe-inspiring group of exceptional individuals! WOW!
