could someone PLEASE explain to me what the term "international student" means??

is it someone who currently resides in a foreign country or holds a passport for a country other than the US?

i am so confused right now. i'm a US citizen and i've lived in the US before but right now I am a ORM living in an ORM country.

^ could someone explain if that would categorize me as international? before i thought it was rock-solid that i was, with living outside the US and all, but now I seriously don't get it.

At my school, it depends on where you are applying from (your high school, for ex.). Generally, internationals face stiffer competition for admission.

For admissions purposes, you are only considered an international student if you hold a foreign passport and it is only likely to affect your chances if you are a citizen of a high application country - Korea, Taiwan, China. If you are an American applying from the Shanghai American School you are not an international student. If you are a Korean applying to transfer from Mercersburg to another American school, you are an international.

There are SO many Koreans applying for BS...
I'm in the same boat, I believe.
I hold a US passport, but am overseas; I should be US right? Not in the international pool

im not too sure, but i think you'll be in an international pool cz you're currently residing international...
if not, then you're competing in the american pool- the biggest, hardest, and most talented (? lol) pool

nahh international's hardest
especially korea
if you came from like i dunno jordon or something as a stellar student then your chances are higher than someone from korea
