Should you buy an Ethernet cord or a wireless router?? I am in armstrong and there is no msu wireless coverage in my dorm :(

Depends. Do you only work on your computer when you’re at your desk? Or do you like to move around with your computer while you work? Ie, I’m in my bed right now and working on my personal statement for the CVM. I prefer to lie down while working on the computer because I tend to bad back cramps when I sit up straight at my desk for long periods of time. If you’re like me, definitely get a router. If you just want to keep your computer at your desk, get an ethernet cord.

I bought a router last year.

It was a good invest IMO.

Question for someone who is currently in a dorm (Hubbard would be ideal):

Dumb question – but are there two Ethernet ports, or will I have to buy a splitter if both my roommate and I wish to use wired at the same time.

You will need an ethernet cable to connect the router. If you use a laptop the router will be helpful unless you can work only at your desk. A basic router should not be too expensive.
