I’m a senior in highschool and would like to pursue architecture as a career. I have an internship starting this fall at a local architecture firm. I was wondering how much the internship would help me with getting into schools? Thank you
No way to tell/it depends on the school. It’s a job (EC) and shows your interest - all good.
Minimal – your GPA, test scores and possibly, your portfolio will be the main points of scrutiny. If your internship allows you to better hone your portfolio, then great. Having an internship alone, while is shows your clear interest – won’t supersede your academics.
It’s not bad whatsoever – but not any elixir. Good luck!
Thank you for the replies! We are going to be making some pieces that can be used in a portfolio during the internship so hopefully that’ll prove to be a leg up but we’ll see I guess.
