Don’t ramble, but don’t give short little responses. Develop your answers, but don’t keep going on and on. Also, when they you ask questions or comment on the school, be specific! For example, don’t say, “the campus is beautiful!” Say, “I really like the architecture of [some building].” Don’t be shy, smile a lot, etc! The interviews were my favorite part of the application process, mainly because I don’t get to talk about myself enough, haha!

^ I agree. The tour and interviews are definately the “funnest” for me (except when you get a bad interviewer, then it becomes torture…)

A piece of Advice: When they ask you if you have questions, don’t ask questions that can be easily found on the website or viewbook. It will show that your not interested or/and have not gone through the time to research about the school. Ask interesting questions.

Questions by Exeter Interviewer:
What’s your favorite subject?
What sports do you play?
What are 3 good/bad characteristics about yourself?
What do you like about Exeter and how did you hear about it?

** Don’t give one word answers. Be ready to fully explain and discuss with the interviewer. In true Exeter style, it’s more like a Harkness discussion than a Q and A session. **

i met him!! haha he came to a meeting in ohio in december.

That’s cool that the interview at Exeter is like Harkness.
