sorry. just re-reading my post and it doesn't make any sense it should read:

I really don't know, but common sense makes me believe that they wouldn't send you an interview if they weren't the least bit interested in you. But I'm sure not getting one doesn't mean your not in. (There may not be someone in your area.)

NoelB05: You're more "right" than the adcoms would like you to think, I suppose. While it's definitely true that many applicants are in regions that don't have active alumni committees (and therefore don't receive interviews), some alumni committees appear to do interviews selectively. The one in my hometown did not interview all of the applicants (I never had one and my friend, an '08 Tiger, never received one). from what I've heard, the students they interviewed were mainly the ones coming out of a local magnet school that often sends kids to Ivies.

So Princeton doesn't discriminate in interviews, but local ASCs can.

I know that the alumni are given some application info because my interviewer knew what city I livided in. But I don't know if they know anything about your grades becasue my interviewer didn't want to talk about school.

My only guess to how they choose who get an interview is they pick all the students they have an interest in. Then if they have a willing alumni in the area, they'll have them set up an interview.
