<p>Yes, an interview is recommended. You don't need to schedule it, as long as you submit the required parts of your app by the deadline, you'll be contact by an alumnus for an interview. </p>
<p>As for whether it'll help your chances significantly...well I doubt it'll be a clincher or a dealbreaker. It's just a way for the admissions officers to get to know you better. Adds a personal flavor to the whole app review process.</p>
