hey guys.. I'm applying RD -- i was rejected from columbia ed, prbly b/c of my fin aid.. my counselor was pretty sure of this, b/c some other kid with certain profile got in from my school not applying for FA.. I don't want to repeat what happened again. is it really true that this year int'l kids with FA have lower chances than usual?
my grades are okay, i have a decent act score, good recs, and i think my app show a very concentrated strong interest and stats in fewer fields than some of the accepted talented students here.. and i hope my essays are good - they're all on the unique edge, philosophical types although one of them is a little longer than expected (but thank god, i almost submitted a 23-page five act play.)
i'm applying RD to harvard and princeton also, but only because they're need-blind so my counselor suggested that i do that.. i really really like uchicago as a school, i think its a great place that recognizes creativity and not just sat monsters.. (i wouldn't mind being one of course!) but FA keeps bothering me-- so i'm thinking of swapping it with Williams. is it worth it or should i keep my uchicago RD?
it may be a long shot even if i wasnt applying for FA, but i dont want it to hurt me in any case..

Internationals have much higher chance of being accepted if they do not apply for financial aid. For the class of 2013, only approximately two out of 130 internationals receive financial aid from the university.
