Are the stereotypes of SMU students being rich partyers and extroverts true? How would an introvert fit in there? Would it be better for me to go to a smaller, quieter school with less prestige or go to SMU but deal with the noise?

Does SMU have substance free dorms? Those usually have less noise and partying.

Many private schools have wealthy families. But with 7,000 undergrads, I’m sure there are all different kinds of students at SMU. Can’t be 7,000 rich kids, right?

Every univeristy will have a percentage of students that fall under the “extroverted party animal” label. As a current student, I can attest to this being a minority on campus. SMU is an increasingly diverse campus that welcomes all personality types.

SMU is a dry campus. Therefore, no substances of any kind are allowed in the residence halls. The only days of the year that we allow alcohol to be served on campus are during football season for our famous Boulevards!

J4morrow nailed it! Every college campus will have extroverts and introverts. The most important thing, no matter where you go to school, is to be yourself. You will likely find people who have similar interests, and people who are different and end up turning you on to new things and new interests. A great combination of both makes the college experience!
