Investment Banking & Engineering?

I was reading a couple threads on here, and I remember reading about like a majority of graduates from a school of Science and Engineering working in Finance for their first job after they graduate. I just don't get it - where does engineering and finance mix? It was a huge majority too, like 40% whereas the next closest one was Consulting which was like 20%. I want to say the school producing those stats was either Brandeis or Wharton?

Engineering is a weedout major and intelligence is heavily selected for in order to get a high GPA. Finance (as an industry) pays well and wants highly intelligent people.

That’s why they intersect.

the analytical skills…

Okay, thanks Mr. Payne!
