Get behind the apparent vibe, the quick tour, the US News rep. In environment alone, those LACs are different. Surely there are differences in emphasis, opportunity, prof strengths, curric requirements, activities, etc. The classic is Dartmouth vs Columbia.

Yes, they’re different—but that doesn’t mean that, for a given student, any one of them is a better or worse fit for that student. >

I agree. It is just a school, not your soulmate for eternity. In terms of K-12, my children experienced low-performing urban public schools, typical suburban public schools, magnet school, and even small public school. All these schools are very different. Yet, each one of them offered something great and valuable, each one of them was a good fit for my children.

Kids are versatile, especially, young adults. Dartmouth and Columbia are different, but the same child may thrive in both.
