Invite research mentor through Common App or SlideRoom?

I’ve currently invited my research supervisor for a rec through Common App as an Other Recommender, but I just saw that you can submit the letter through SlideRoom as part of a research supplement

I’m debating whether or not to submit a research supplement. Will it look bad if I only submit a rec from the research supervisor and not a full research supplement? Since my research was not published, and my supervisor is going to give an overview of my research in the letter anyways, I don’t think my research supplement would add that much new info. But I also don’t want to seem like I’m slacking.

@yellohighlightr , please read the other threads about research supplements. In only very rare circumstances is it a good idea.

You already provided the answer by saying that it wouldn’t add much new info. You won’t be considered a slacker.
