Im about ready to give up all hope on going to UW- Madison so im looking at other midwest schools.
Out of the two which school is better for academics, partying, and overal city life. Iowa State or Iowa University? Im kind of leaning towards Iowa U

University of Iowa is without a doubt well known for partying if that's what you're interested in. Iowa State is more known for being a sport orientated school.

Partying and athletics are what these two schools are pretty much known for, and I think otherwise on par with each other for academics. Dunno about the city life.

My daughter really liked the University of Iowa and knows people who will be going there. The town is really nice, not quite Madison, but a fun place integrated into campus. I think you'd like it if you like UW.
Many highly ranked programs in the health sciences, especially nursing, speech pathology, etc.

definitely uiowa for partying and city life, but academics depend on what you want to do. uiowa is best for business and health, but iowastate is leagues beyond uiowa in engineering. liberal arts are about the same from my understanding, so it sounds like unless you are interested in technology, uiowa is a sure fit.
