Iowa state Vs University of Nebraska-Lincoln/ My last week to decide '-'

I will go to either on of those.

Major: Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Iowa state U: 1) well know for Engineering better than Nebraska 2) beautiful campus. 3) Tuition 15k +10k room and board

U of Nebraska 1)good university 2) beautiful city 3) Tuition 11k+ 12k room and board. 4) Buildings look more newer and nicer in Nebraska than iowa

Cost difference is so low (probably 2-3k per year).

I am going to accept my offer of admission from one of these two this month (End of February) So that I can have good housing .

I thought Iowa state is better than Nebraska in term of engineering (better ranked though), First digital computer to be made (In iowa state ),
And I thought the 2-3k in Iowa will be worth it.

I am now like 60% Iowa 40% Nebraska

I mostly care about academics and job placement rate and internships/coop opportunities!

So which one?
Please help (I only have a week to decide)

Agreed, ISU is probably more known for engineering than UNL is, but that doesn’t always mean it’s facilities and teaching are SIGNIFICANTLY better. You’d have to check them out very closely to make that claim.

One thing for sure is Lincoln is a significant and interesting city, and not-far-away Omaha is a large and thriving city. Both cities dwarf Ames in comparison, & if internships & employment are a high priority, UNL wins easily. Nebraska has a “dry” campus, so frats and others looking to drink alcohol have to go off campus. This might be a pro or con aspect, depending on your desires.

If you can afford to lose the housing deposit, just secure your housing choices now at both and then decide by May 1st. At Iowa we did have to actually go through the motion of accepting admission but then we declined before May 1st when S decided to go elsewhere.
