i want to study abroad my junior year and i think i want to go to ireland.

so i was wondering if anyone knew what there is to do there and what colleges are the best?

actually, any comments on ireland in general are appreciated.

The best school is Trinity College Dublin...by far

I really can't comment on what there is to do in Ireland because nothing incredible stands out in my mind.

The "best" college is known by most to be Trinity College in Dublin. Dublin is NOTHING like the rest of Ireland. It is modernized, EXTREMELY diverse and busy. It's a really exciting place to be.

Areas outside of Dublin and closer to the countryside can be extremely beautiful. You'll be surprised at how green the grass is. There are many fields walled with stone and farm animals are common. However, you probably wouldn't see much of this if you were in Dublin.

Also, the weather in Ireland generally sucks. It rains very often.

I haven't studied abroad in Ireland, but I've visited 10+ times because I have relatives there.

Yeah, i've heard that Trinity is supposedly the best in Ireland, and Dublin is a very cosmopolitan city, similar to many other big cities.

On the opposite side of the island, there's alot of really cool little towns in West ireland, (check out county clare or limerick) The city of Galway is also very cool, having an old world sort of feel to it. I was there last summer and it's really kinda cool.

Yeah, my experiences in Ireland were primarily in Galway, Clare and Dublin.

alright, thanks :]

I did a 10 day field studies trip in Ireland, and it made me want to research further studing opportunities in Ireland.

I wasn't very impressed by Dublin to be honest, Cork (especially), Limerick, Kilkenny, and a few other cities in Southern Ireland I was more impressed with. I actually visited Trinity College in Dublin to see the Book of Kells. It was a lovely campus, I must say! :)
