Is 3 years of science enough?

I am wondering if it will have a negative affect on my college applications if I only take 3 science courses (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) during high school. I want to study either finance or economics in college and my school has a business program that teaches about principals of finance and economics.
If I were to do this program, I would be involved in various business and finance related classes during my junior and senior year, however, I would not have time in my schedule for science my senior year.

So basically, is it necessary to take 4 years of science in high school?

Look at the coursework recommendations/requirements of each college you plan to apply to. There is no one answer that will be right for every college.

No, it is not necessary to take four years of science, unless your high school requires it. That said, you may want to check out the college on your list to see what they recommend. They might require four years of science, however, I believe that’s a small minority of colleges.
