Being a transfer applicant, especially for sophmore standing, college GPA is a crucial crucial factor. One pretty much has to nail down a straight out 4.0 to get into top elite schools.

Coming from a school that give out 4.33s, is having some GPA like 4.12 less impressive than a 4.0 from another place (where 4.0 is the top grade)? I am afraid so because 4.0 is perfect, while 4.12 means you didnt get an A+ in one of your classes.

I dont know much, but if your asking whether or not a 4.12 is less impressive than a 4.33, well I would think so...And in comparison to a maximum of 4.0 from another college, well since a 4.0 represents the highest one can get, and a 4.12 isnt the highest you could have gotten then I think a 4.0 would mean more, but thats not saying that a 4.12 is low at all

Um, This thread is depressing me. A 4.12, man? That's incredible.

isnt a high gpa almost a requirement, especially for top elite schools

Yeah, but for most transfers a 3.9 is good enough. Keep up the good work, man.
