Hi,
So USC is my number one choice for college, and I really want to go there. However, I spend roughly 25 hours a week rehearsing for musicals, (I do 4 every year in an intense program), so I have extremely limited time. I will have 5 APs (Calc AB, Spanish Lang, Econ, Calc BC, and Physics), and 4 Honors when I graduate. I go to a very difficult college prep school so I have to manage my time well, and even our CP classes are hard. I also have a 1490/1600 on the SAT and a 3.8/4.1 GPA. I was just wondering if my lack of AP classes could hurt my chances, as I have extremely limited time during the week.
You chose to spend your time doing musicals, others spend their time taking more AP classes and do other activities. Good news is USC is holistic and how your application comes together overall is more important thing than a single aspect of it. So it depends on how you present yourself in the application and if it is what they are looking for. That is as specific as anyone on here can be. Be careful not to make excuses in your application, own what you chose to do. If you notice, it seems everyone goes to a very hard/competitive/prep high school these days. Good luck!
