Is a bachelors in Social Work completely useless?

I haven't decided if I'd like to do my masters yet, so I don't want to waste my time. I'd like to get the bachelors, work for a while, and then maybe get the masters.

If you are undecided about a master’s program, I would recommend glancing over Master’s admissions/program requirements to become more familiar with what is expected in general.
Schools may be specific, or you may find the opposite.
If you find that most schools are open about your undergrad major, then a bachelor’s in social work will be just as useless, and/or useful, as any other major out there.
If the schools request or recommend internship/work experience, then I recommend you research job board for positions in the field and see what the industry requires in terms of undergrad majors/degree.
If no one is specifically asking for a bachelors in ‘social work’ to work in the field, then again any major should work or will be fine.
On a side note, depending on your location, or where you plan to establish yourself after undergrad, there are some job titles within different industries (medical & health, education, law enforcement, etc) where the work consists of “social work” yet the job title isn’t directly related to the literal words of “social work”. Those positions might pay more & or only require a bachelor’s degree.
But do the research…that’s what you’re going to be doing in college anyway.
best of luck.
