Is a degree in engineering from the UK helpful in the US?

was going to apply for an undergraduate degree in engineering at Oxford next year. However I noticed that in the UK, the engineering degree is a MEng, which is a masters in engineering science…would such a degree hold its own against US degrees when applying for an engineering job in the US? Even if its from Oxford?

Because it seems that the US bachelors degrees in engineering are much more specialized in specific types of engineering then the UK degrees are.

Also how hard is it to get jobs with just a bachelors in engineering?

Perhaps look up how mutual recognition between ABET and ECUK works, and whether the degree program is accredited by ECUK:

They absolutely offer baccalaureate degrees in engineering in the UK. I don’t know why you think they only offer master’s degrees.

I meant they only provide engineering science baccalaureates as as opposed to say a bachelors in Mech E

But I think the answer for you is… Stay the Course where you are. The UK degree won’t be any more valuable.
