^^^ probably so... the timing is more strict on the ACT --->

****SAT Timing:

Writing (grammar) and essay:
*25 minutes - Essay
*25 minutes - 35 questions (improving sentences and paragraphs, identifiying sentence errors)
*10 minutes - 14 questions (improving sentences)

Reading:

*25 minutes - 24 questions (sentence completion, short and reading comprehension)
*20 minutes - 19 questions (setence completion, long reading comprehension)

Math:
*25 minutes - 20 questions (multiple choice)
*25 minutes - 18 questions (multiple choice, grid-in)
*20 minutes - 16 questions (multiple choice)

And then there's an experimental section in there somewhere

****ACT Timing:

English (grammar):
*45 Minutes - 75 questions

Math:
*60 minutes - 60 questions

Reading:
*35 minutes - 40 questions

Science:
*35 minutes - 40 questions

Essay - 30 minutes

ok, so you get 5 more minutes on the ACT essay.. but timing on every other section is more strict than on the SAT --->

SAT --- Time per question:

Writing (grammar) ---> 49 questions, 35 minutes -- 0.714 minute per question

Reading ---> 67 questions, 70 minutes -- 1.045 minutes per question

Math ---> 54 questions, 70 minutes -- 1.296 minutes per question

ACT --- Time per question:

English (grammar) ---> 75 questions, 45 minutes -- 0.600 minute per question (0.114 minute less than the SAT)

Math ---> 60 questions, 60 minutes -- 1.000 minute per question (0.296 minute less than SAT)

Reading ---> 40 questions, 35 minutes -- 0.875 minute per question (0.170 minute less than SAT)

Science ---> same as reading

So, you are much more pressed for time on the ACT than on the SAT.. but the questions are a little more straightforward, so it pretty much evens out
