Hey, so I know no one can answer this question but me, and yet I’m still curious to see what other people’s experiences are. I am a rising junior who recently started studying for the tests and kind of spontaneously decided to go with ACT. I just took my first official practice test from the red book for ACT (i did it non-timed) and got 35 R, 35 E, 32 S, and 28 M for a 33 composite. Definitely not bad for a first try, although I want a higher M for sure. That being said, the math section gave me GRIEF and Science felt like it was total luck. M is content errors, science is… luck. E & R are solid. Should I look into the SAT, too, or should I just run with the ACT for now? For anyone whose strengths are not in STEM, what test did you prefer?
Science is really just reading and data interpretation at breakneck speed, not just luck. Do a few more practice tests, and study for the math. You will end up with a great score, as you already have.
You did great with the ACT. Unless you want a chance to qualify for NMSQT, I see no reason to take the SAT.
It is more depending on the student’s preference in test format than intended field of major. One may even argue the opposite to be true as Math is only 1/4 of ACT but half of SAT composite scores.
