Is admission more competitive for international students?

I'm an intl student currently attending an undergrad college in the US. I'm just wondering if grad school admissions is ore competitive for us (as they were for undergrad programs), and if GPA/scores matter more than they do for US citizens?

Potentially. It depends entirely on the program and the people evaluating your application. You do have to get sponsorship so theoretically that may affect a department’s willingness to take you, but in practice universities deal with it so often that I can’t imagine it would make a huge difference. It might matter more for funded programs that have limited funds for international students, since many NSF and NIH GRA stipends can only fund U.S. citizens. It might not matter at all for professional programs at which you are expected to pay the entire cost in loans. It just depends.
