<p>that’s probably often true. Many of a person’s community’s doctors probably went to med school or did their residencies within a couple hundred miles. </p>
<p>When I lived in Southern Calif, many of the physicians had gone to one of the UC SOMs, Keck, or Loma Linda. I only knew two that had gone OOS…one to Creighton and one to Emory (a Georgia boy who had a heck of an accent…told my H to spend post surgery “resting on his davenport or on the veranda.” We still chuckle about that.)</p>
