Is an MS in Biomedical Engineering worth it?

Hello,

I am a current junior going for my BS in Biomedical Engineering (BME). I have had a difficult time securing an internship for this upcoming summer, and it’s making me wonder if I will encounter similar issues when applying for jobs once I graduate. I am considering getting my MS in BME, in hopes this will better my chances of getting a job in the future.

Can any other BME graduates weigh in on whether or not they feel getting a MS has bettered their chances of getting a job? Is there a major difference in salary?

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me!

The general consensus that I’ve read here is that a BS in BME is not very marketable. So, not only is a masters worth it, it is probably a necessity.

Don’t let your internship experience totally color your perception. It’s easier to get a job than an internship.
