I know this is a little early, but I want to keep up with students planning to transfer at TU in the Spring or Fall of 2016. Please keep me updated with any extracurricular, grades, etc.(Side note: I have this same thread posted under Towson University’s discussion, but I wanted to give it a wider audience by generally putting it in the transfer students discussion)
I also am applying for spring at towson.
I’m applying for fall 2016, but I’m thinking about the applying for Spring. How many credits do you have, whats your intended major.
By the time I apply I will have 31 transferable credits, my intended major is Family Science. You?
@ewskater Well by the time I transfer in the Fall I’ll have 41 or 42 credits(forgot), if I apply for Spring then I’ll only have about 25 credits, my major is biology, but if I get into UMD I’ll change my major because they only have limited spaces.
@dreamadream Do you mind putting up your stats?

@ewskater We are so similar, I can’t believe it, you definitely have to get some extracurriculars and so do I. Maybe join a club this coming Fall.
@dreamadream Its too late for me since I’m applying for spring, but I’ve heard they don’t look into extracurriculars as much for transfer students. I could be wrong though.
@ewskater yeah they do, especially college activities and leadership.
@dreamadream so why are you torn between applying for spring or fall?
@ewskater I want more credits and I want to raise my GPA and get more experience before I apply to UMD.
@dreamadream what about applying for spring then applying for fall if you get denied for spring?
@ewskater really nervous to apply for the spring, idk if I will, I always planned on it but I need more credits.
@dreamadream you have decent high school grades since you would be under 30 credits?
@ewskater my high school grades are not too good, I was rejected from Drexel and one other college and I gave up on the college app process, so I decided to go to CC.
@dreamadream well at UMD they would base the decision more off of the CC grades, but if you feel that your HS school grades would completely ruin it (like in my case) then maybe you should wait for fall. Now if your HS grades are maybe a bit below average- then you still have a fighting chance since spring is less competitive than fall.
