is AP physics necesary for physics SAT II?

I'm taking AP Physics C next year and have taken Physics Honors last year. Do I need to have taken the Ap class to take the SAT II, or can I still do good without the class?

definitely depends on the quality of your physics class. i know plenty of people from my school who aced the sat ii with just physics h, but talk to kids from your school who have taken the same course (and with the same teacher, if possible)

absolutely NOT. The subject tests are supposed to measure knowledge obtained from HS courses, not college courses (aka AP/IB). However, many kids in AP do take the respective subject tests, so the 'curve' is brutal.

As pepsi notes, how have kids at your HS fared after the honors class?

bump (10 char)

No, but it would help. My son took SAT after AP Physics and got an easy 800 with no additional prep.
