I am debating on whether or not to take it… I will be taking Honors 10 lit/comp (joke at our school), honors pre calc, honors spanish 3, regular chemistry (ap chem in junior) and then I have to decide between regular US HISTORY or APUSH, the difference is huge between the two classes, and I am not in honors history this year. What will it be like?
It really depends on your teacher. Two teachers taught it last year, and the students for one teacher said it was a really cool class, while my teacher was probably somewhat sadistic. Our class had a lower average, but we had higher AP scores.
I feel like the material itself isn’t too hard to grasp rather it’s the workload that can get you down. But ofc that’s all dependent on your teacher like Cosmo said.
A lot of an AP class depends on the teacher. Ask around the juniors and seniors at your school and see if the class will be a good match for you or not. APUSH is known for its vigorous course and workload; the content isn’t too difficult. It also depends on whether or not you naturally find history enjoyable, easy to remember, etc. Since you’ve never taken an AP history before (like AP World), you will find that it’s A LOT of work, and it will probably be the most work you’ve ever done for a class. But if you know you can stay on top of your game and study hard, I say go for it. It’s always good to challenge yourself
