I know Asians are super overrepresented at most top colleges, but at BC it’s around 10%. That is still double the national average, but lower than other top schools. Also, they include Asians when talking about ethnicity and diversity along with the traditional URMs. So might Asian actually be a plus for BC or at least not as much of a disadvantage as at other schools?
BC can surely admit more Asians than it does. Like any college, it has its mosaic of the type of incoming class it wants to build.
Does it matter in a decision if someone is or is not Asian? Probably, but no adcom will ever tell you and it’s likely to matter less than most anything else in your application.
Your academic profile looks strong. Now you need to begin thinking about how you’ll stand out among the many other applicants with equally strong academic profiles.
Aside from assembling a strong application in all the usual ways:
- Will your application convey why you want to go to BC?
- What is it about your application that will cause BC to want you?
- Is your application really you? Or has it been polished? (something adcoms are experienced at reading).
