I've come accross several threads in which some users have "dissed" Texas. Well, I'm from Texas, and i don't think i go to a horrible school.

When colleges see I'm from Texas, will they laugh at me or something?

No?

.............................

the only possible thing I can think of is that you come from a populous state, so you may not have the "geographic diversity" advantage someone from say, Wyoming has. But aside from that, no.

Heh. Dude, I came from Kentucky and it didn't hurt me. And I had plenty of Texan class/dormmates.

No. no. no. Although most northern colleges have a very low percentage of students from the south in general. This definitely does not include Florida or California.

You're a bit of an anomaly, but it's not completely ridiculous.

Absolutely not.

You might have an edge at Ivies admissions if they are low on Texas to begin with.

^There are probably a large amount of Texans, though.

I wouldn't expect it to affect you.
