I am about to start volunteering at a Hospital probably about 3 days a week, starting next month. I am also about to join Habitat for Humanity.

I really enjoy hands on learning and the school of my choice (North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University) offers a BS in Bioengineering. I am pretty sure that I am going to apply to Medical School after college. I don't want anyone to tell me that there is easier ways to medical school because I know that. I just want to know, (according to my academics) if you think it would be possible for me to do well enough in bioengineering/biomedical engineering to go to medical school?

Yes you look like you have what it takes to do Bio-Medical Engineering. I would recomend taking a look at a few other schools. Try to find out what the acceptance rate to Med school is out of each school you look at as a guide if you want to go to med school after your BS.

This should give you a hint as to how well you will do in what is considered one of the toughest majors in college.

John Hopkins, Duke, Georgia Tech, Penn, Rice, BU, and UVA, all have good biomed engineering programs. My boyfriend wants to major in biomed engineering, and he applied to Duke, Penn, and UVA, but he considered all of those schools.

@onecicuit I dont understand your reply??

@UTPG1234 Thanks for the reply!

Hi, I am thinking that maybe you should try internships or summer research within the bioengineering field, it’s a vast area. NC A & T has several pre-college programs in their Bio-Eng

@onecircuit - aw c’mon, I forget the project I worked on a month after it’s done - you have to eliminate the excess knowledge. That’s what a transcript is for.

@lialee - I don’t see why not - good luck!

can i get into an ivy leauge??? and if so, which ones?? i am also intersted in georgetown and johns hopkins
(im a high school freshman)

GPA: UW: 3.7 W: 4.6

part of the international baccaularette program (IB program), i took and got an A in the only AP class offered for freshman at my school, and recently took the AP exam

I have done an incredible amount of volunteering in my community and internationally (in Peru) numerous times, i know this sounds cliche, but theres too many to list, so ill list some of the major ones:
Apopka Learning Center Volunteering
Relay for Life (Cancer research fundraising)
Boys and Girls Club
taking numerous trips to Peru to distribute books, toys, and clothes to the children and to teach english
fundraised for the cystic fybrosis foundation
gone on several mission trips with my church
