I am strongly considering Case Western, among a few other schools. Although I know the academics should be the most important thing to consider, I can't help but think about how bored I would be if Case is as dull as everyone says it is. I am a very outgoing person, and I really like partying and dancing, even if I have homework or studying to do. Am I guaranteed to be disappointed in this aspect of social life? Do academics always trump alcohol? I just want to get a good education but also to have a good time. Please reassure me that I will not be an outcast if I drink, etc.

You won’t be an outcast if you drink.

That said most Case students are serious about studying and Case is academically challenging. If you are a serious partier, or are looking for a party type school, then you should probably look at some of the big state universities. Playboy magazine publishes a list of the top 10. Perhaps you can find one on that list that is academically well regarded in your intended major AND has a more enticing lifestyle?

Perhaps you should look at public schools, where it won’t cost so much to party. just saying.

If you blow off your homework or studying to go partying or dancing, you’ll sink at Case. Just saying.
