I'm currently thinking of studying civil engineering, It really interest me it even suits my personality INTJ, however I feel quite anxious about it. While in High School I did good in Algebra and Physics, but not so well in Trigonometry got a C in S1, and a B in S2. I will be attending OCC, and hope that I can transfer to a good UC, so getting a good GPA is crucial. I'm willing to put extra work, and go to tutoring but I don't know if I will be able to handle the math, is it really that hard?

What kind of civil engineering are you interested? What do you want to do with your civil engineering degree? Look into Structural, Transportation, Geotechnical, Geomatics, and Hydraulics for example (listed off the top of my head, my school supports 9 specialties within Civil Engineering). They all do very different things when it comes down to math and physics.

I’m currently going for Structural.

None of us can answer this question because what is “hard” for one person may be easy for another. Struggling in previous math courses doesn’t mean that you are doomed to struggle in the future - maybe try different study strategies.

Trig is very important, consider retaking or self-studying that material outside of class.
