So I basically got a letter saying that I’m gonna get “no cost financial advising” because of me being 3.5 GPA + and top 10%. All I have to do is apply online or mail them my info on a small card they provided.
I’m more concerned about whether it’s worth my time than whether it is legit because I already have a lot of things to do/deadlines to fulfill, and my work is stacking up so I’m not trying to waste time/get involved in anything meaningles
Scam.
@thumper1 I was suspicious.
However, I still wanna know how something free can be a scam. Can you elaborate more please?
How are they going to give you college financial advising without YOU giving them a LOT of information about your family finances? Think about that.
They will get plenty of info from you…but I can’t imagine they will be able to give you added financial advice just because you have a 3.5 GPA…info that you can certainly find out on your own…also for free.
I have never dealt with this company…but there is so much info you can find yourself…why would you want to give your info to a third party?
Having said all that…
Why don’t you do their survey and see…but be very careful what info you give out.
This is something you should ask your high school counselor about. There are a couple of 2016 threads about it. Maybe you could pm one of the posters to see if they used it.

Ok…I read those threads…it’s NOT a scam. But I never saw any of those posters come back to say positive things about this.
As long as you don’t give out any personally identifying information, I would say…try it and see.
Maybe there will be something to gain.
But one poster did say their “consultants” were current college students or grad students. Not sure how financially savvy they would be. But maybe they can give you a little advice.
@thumper1 I’m trying to find out info but I can’t find any reliable reviews or any such site. I’ll check out those earlier threads on CC. And yes, their website says it’s college students who give advice.
