I am anxiously awaiting my early decision results at my top school. They arrive on December 15. Is it true that f I wait that long to send out my OTHER college applications (RD) than I will have a very low chance of getting in? Becuase if I do get into my early decisions school, I don't want to waste my time sending out other applications before hand.

It is slightly better to send in regular decision applications a little early because they get more attention by the admissions staff. However, sending in an application a couple days before a deadline will not have a real impact on admissions.

There is more a danger that a student will be surprised they didn’t get in ED, and will not have thought through their options, and will not have the time to put in a good application with carefully written essays.

It doesn’t matter when your RD applications arrive, as long as you meet the appropriate deadline.
