I am attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and plan on graduating with a BA in Economics and POSSIBLY a BA in Psychology (double majoring).. If not, then just a BA in Economics w/minor in Psychology.

But Do you think that I could make a lot of $$ upon graduating? Could earning $60-70,000 be a possibility? UofM is supposed to be a very well known Economics program.

I eventually plan on getting a MBA or going to grad school.

So, what's your opinion? Do you think it's worth being ~$12,000 in debt for the undergrad degree?

Thanks!

While University of Minnesota has a great graduate economics program, their undergraduate program leaves something to be desired. You won’t be able to take graduate level economics courses as an undergrad at U of M and you won’t compete with graduate students so to you, the graduate program’s ranking is completely irrelevant.

Obviously, if you’re in state, Madison is the better option, but if you didn’t get in, it’s sort of irrelevant.

Your salary is going to depend a lot more on the field you enter than your major so at this point, it’s pointless to tell you what you would be making. The bulk of econ grads from university of Minnesota won’t be in that range, but that does not necessarily mean you won’t.
