<p>Will engineering be "safe" for beginners who just graduated in 4 years from now? I will be doing electrical engineering and most likely going into the electronics specialization. Will this relatively secure in 4 years? Technology is always advancing and there's always something new in technology.</p>
<p>IMO, rather than asking if some career is "safe", people should ask themselves what they are willing to do to get a job. Would they move to where the jobs are? would they take less money? would they work for equity at a startup?</p>
<p>how many civil engineers build homes? how about which civil engineer built which home? a civil engineer is required for developing the land that your home sits on. more specifically, a CE is required to design utility, drainage, grading and etc. plans for this, or any parcel development.</p>
