Is Engineering too much math?

Roboticme here. I usually get As and Bs in my math (just finished Algebra 2), and I am the president of my school's robotics team. I am very hands-on, I love to fix things, I try to build something rather than buy it at full cost. I am very creative in my thinking (prob. because I'm left handed ;D jk ). I love flying airplanes, I also love film directing, I won a national award for one of my short films; but there is not many careers in film. I am very political, but not much of a career there either.

So...I have been seriously considering majoring in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering. Problem is: I don't like math. It bores me to death. I can't wait to start science or History by the time we get through half of my problems. Is this going to be a big problem in college and once I get a job? I gave up Computer engineering because I think that my brain may explode with days of programming. Will my math "problem" actually be a problem?

Math is essential in not just engineering, but most other STEM, social science, etc. majors.

For engineering, yes math is VERY important in college. I am an EE, and 90% of my courses have some math involved. But the good news is that in jobs, math is not always present.

A’s and B’s in math doesn’t mean you are BAD at it. And I am also bored of PURE math. But in engineering classes, math is just a tool, not the main topic. This makes it much more fun. So I’d say you should give engineering a chance.

Exactly what I was hoping to hear Duaneread. Thanks!

No problem :P
