Is Georgia Tech non-engineering majors much harder than other schools?

Hello all! Its me again.
I was just wondering…if I were to take a non-engineering major at GT such as biology, would that be much harder than biology another good school like Duke or UNC for example?

Also…if there are any GT students out there…is the social/student life really as horrible as people say? Be honest.

Thanks!
Amberlanya.

can someone pleaseee respond?

GATech parent here, of a senior. GaTech does have a good half to 3/4 of the students studying math, science and engineering. The remainder are pre medical, pre law, business with a few students in international studies, which is strong. So if you don’t want to be around math and science students, GaTech may not be a fit.

GaTech is an urban campus, a big state school with division 1 football and basketball. Its got a better social life and more sororities and fraternities than many private schools in small towns, like Duke, with less students so less choices socially. Georgia Tech is located in a vibrant large city, so much more to do than Durham NC. Chapel Hill is a college town, a bit better than Durham for stuff to do, and NC State is a big public school so I don’t know how that might compare. . Atlanta has professional sports, museums, bars, restaurants, theatre and a lot to do off campus. Also Georgia Tech is near Georgia State and Emory University, so there are a lot of students in Atlanta.

Biology major at Duke and Georgia Tech will be about the same for difficulty. Both will offer you research and lab experiences, if you want to prepare for a PhD program. Duke is harder by far to get accepted to, especially if you are a Georgia student, as Georgia Tech has a system to accept a much higher % of Georgia students than out of state students. Georgia Tech automatically accepts valedictorians from Georgia for instance, without looking at their test scores.

Thank you!! @Coloradomama has your son/daughter truly enjoyed their years of college? or would you say they were mostly stressed out?
Also, are they finding it easy to find good jobs?
