Is getting into college harder than actually succeeding in the college of your choice

Is getting into college harder than actually succeeding in the college of your choice? I heard that from a couples kids so far...what do you think?

It's harder to succeed in college.

Getting into college means doing well in High School. Succeeding in college means doing well in college. College classes are generally harder than high school classes. Unless your grades are really low, you're more or less guaranteed to go to a college (maybe not your top choice), but you're not guaranteed to get a job or go to graduate school at college graduation.

The acceptance letter is the start, not the end, of the journey.

I definitely agree

Depends on the college.
It might be true for some highly selective colleges with extremely high graduation rates.
Also, define "success."

Well, the school I'll be attending is Emory University; more specifically Oxford College of Emory.

success = pulling mostly A's and B's. basically anything above a 3.0 GPA...preferably 3.5 or above.

When you're looking at like the top 10 schools, I think so. You get to point where you have a lot of applicants that are qualified to attend those schools, but the schools can't accept them all.
