Is Grade Deflation a major problem at Rutgers?

In BusinessWeek it says that grade deflation makes it very tough for students to earn A's (for the business school)

does this only apply to the business school?

what about arts and sciences?

Can anyone here who goes to Rutgers tell me about the grading?

thanks

Personally, I don't know, but I know one who has graduated from Rutgers and going to Harvard Law. He got a 4.0 there (based on his word...) so I'm guessing that there's rather grade inflation rather than deflation.

how would that suggest grade inflation? simply because someone has a 4.0? apparently harvard thought that the 4.0 was worth something rather than a product of inflation since they accepted him..

We rarely see 4.0s at universities with grade deflation. There may be none at all. My point was simple and easy to understand.

Most universities have a much smaller sample size, though. I think there's usually only 10-15 4.0's by graduation at Rutgers, out of a class of 10,000+.

Either way, I wouldn't say there's grade deflation. Professors usually give grades based on a standard bell curve.
