S got the info regarding this program yesterday, and it sounds very interesting. He noticed, though, that 4 of the 6 professors for next year have a background in religion. Is this program really religion-based? Would the American Conversation program have the same focus?

It certainly satisfies the religion requirement, so there is definitely a religious component. I've heard complaints that religions other than Christianity are glossed over too much, but perhaps that is changing with more religious professors teaching it. I would venture a guess that AmCon contains less religion, but that's purely speculation. I sent my application to GreatCon today, and I can't decide whether I want to apply to AmCon as well. :-/

Did your son e-mail admissions? My admissions officer has been wonderful with answering all sorts of questions.
