I've heard of a lot of people taking a break from school until Sunday. I don't do this, and I feel burnt-out (you can see the story about this on another thread I started). Should I start holding homework back till Sunday? I realize I can do all my homework Friday and Saturday then rest Sunday, but I forget EVERYTHING if I do that. On the other hand, I really don't like being rushed (by doing all my homework on Sunday).

This is kind of jumbled, I'm sorry. Main question: Should I do homework on only Sunday or not?

Then what happens if you don’t get done? I take a break on Friday night, usually, and then try to get as much as I can done on Saturday so that Sunday is a lighter load.

Bod angles has the right idea. Take Friday off after school, and tackle it starting Saturday.many who wait till Sunday start Monday off stressed.

^Agreed. I do that more often than wanted…and trust me. It’s very stressful. Especially when you juggle more than 3 AP’s at a time. Procrastination is not your best friend.
I suggest you start your hw Saturday morning. Get it all done and out of the way.
Sunday is just relax day and possibly reviewing notes so that you won’t forget things.

@digitalking what if you don’t really have any easy classes though? haha. Another problem with that is that most of my work is on the computer. My high school added an extra 200 dollars each year for tuition in order to slowly pay for a Macbook Air (that I’m currently typing on now). Most homework is on this laptop… of course, not math and science, but those classes I can’t BS the class before.

My top priorities are things that need to by typed out and printed. I usually do all of that as soon as possible and then I slowly (and by slowly, I mean SLOWLY) work through the rest. Usually non-textbook assignments I just BS the class before.

Random studies also show that you work faster when you have less time to finish said task. I know it works for me, because I don’t get distracted when I only have an hour to finish a two-hour assignment… (some will point out that this leads to sub-par quality, but I really don’t care if I get a 95% or a 100% on homework assignments, since homework is typically weighted so disproportionately…)

Whenever you’re not working, there’s someone who is.

I usually take Friday nights off/only do an hour or two of “easy” homework (i.e. reading, watching lectures on teh YouTube), then get back to the grind on Saturdays. Most important element is to schedule breaks into your calendar. Don’t work for more than 4 hours without a 15-30 minute break (usually–there are acceptable times to do this, but those require caffeine in excess).

I’d say no, use Sunday as a rest day and do the homework Saturday (start Friday if you have a lot).
Personally, I have to do homework Sunday due to indoor drumline all day Saturday, but I’d rather have it done.
Take Friday/Sunday as a break.

I’m such a hardcore procrastinator that freshmen year, I used to start my homework 5 PM Sunday night. As time went on though, I slowly started pushing that time back. Now, I start my homework as soon as I wake up Sunday morning. The thing is, I work well under pressure, so I can get it all done on Sunday. But as someone above me pointed out, I do start off Monday stressed sometimes.

I’d definitely say that you should gauge your homework and your week. If you only have a little, I would just do it Sunday. But since most of us on CC are chronic overachievers, you probably want to start it Saturday. It’s something that I definitely want to start doing.

Every Friday night I resolve to change. I tell myself that I’ll leave my procrastinating ways behind and get everything done even before Saturday. So I do a few hours of homework on Friday, but then my self-esteem goes up because of all the homework I did, and I tell myself I can just wait until Monday morning to finish it.

It certainly depends on your learning style. I can’t focus unless I have a sense of urgency, so Friday is a much needed rest day, Saturday is for cross country/debate stuff and hanging out with friends, and most of Sunday is homework. I am taking 3 APs plus advanced language and advanced math and electives. This method doesn’t really stress me out, cause I do my best work late at night.
